Job Openings at the Union County Carnegie Library

Position Available: Director of the Union County Carnegie Library, voted Best Small Library in America 2009 by Library Journal. The Union Carnegie Library is governed by an eight person board, has recently completed a strategic plan, and has a construction plan in place. Required: Knowledge of public library management, budgeting and finance planning, and library technology. Strong leadership skills, commitment to community service, and public relations skills essential. Excellent communication skills and strong public service skills required, particularly regarding service to children and teens. ALA/MLS with at least 3-5 years of progressively responsible post-MLS experience in a public library, and at least one year at the administrative/supervisory level. S.C. driver’s license required. Hiring range: $45, 000.-$50,000.
